Photo of an iPhone Messages group chat called bible study girls. A friend says she has read more of the Bible this week than the past year, another asks which app that is, and the phone's owner answers: scroll the bible!! it's literally like scrolling instagram but it's scripture. A friend says she checks her phone 300 times a day and needs it, and the owner replies: right?? might as well make it count. An empty iMessage bar is at the bottom.
  1. HookA friend opens with a confession about reading the Bible.
  2. The pitchOne friend names the app and says what it is like.
  3. No ad furnitureNo logo, headline or button. Only an empty iMessage bar.

Counted from Scroll The Bible ads in the Meta Ad Library whose picture is an iMessage group chat. The chat is drawn in the image, which the library cannot search, so all 160 ads of the Page were saved and every picture was looked at. Different chat texts and group names, and the same chat as a clean screenshot or a photo of a phone screen, count as one creative. Tweet, Notes app, lock-screen, Instagram and Reddit lookalikes are a different creative and are not counted. Ads the library flags as under 100 impressions are left out; none of these seven is one. The library lists no ended ads for the Page, so only ads live today are counted, and it lists no video ads. TikTok was not checked.

01 The hook

"ok not to be dramatic but I've read more of the bible this week than the past year"

The whole picture is one phone screen: an iMessage group chat called "bible study girls", with a 9:41 clock, three round avatars (M, K and J) and an empty "iMessage" bar at the bottom. This version is a photo of a phone, with a little glare. The first grey bubble is the hook: "ok not to be dramatic but I've read more of the bible this week than the past year", with a crying emoji. There is no logo, headline or button in the picture. The caption starts with "Your group chat is about to have a new favorite app."

02 The offer

Free download

There is no price, because the app is free. The offer is one sentence from a friend: "scroll the bible!! it's literally like scrolling instagram but it's scripture". The caption ends "Download Scroll The Bible for free." In the Ad Library the card is headed "Your Group Chat Needs This" with an Install now button that goes to apps.apple.com.

03 The structure

  1. 01A phone screen: status bar, back arrow, three avatars and the group name "bible study girls".
  2. 02Grey bubble: a friend says she has read more of the Bible this week than the past year.
  3. 03Grey bubble: another friend asks "wait which app is that".
  4. 04Blue bubble, from the phone's owner: "scroll the bible!! it's literally like scrolling instagram but it's scripture".
  5. 05Grey bubble: "no way I need this, I check my phone like 300 times a day anyway lol". Blue reply: "right?? might as well make it count".
  6. 06A typing indicator and an empty iMessage bar. No logo, button or price.

04 Why it works

This is a reading of the creative, not proof of results: the Ad Library shows when ads ran, not how they performed, and it says nothing about whether the claims in the chat are true. The picture is built to look like something a friend screenshotted and sent, not like an ad. The brand name appears once, inside a friend's text, and the pitch is a single comparison: it is like scrolling Instagram, but it is Scripture. A doubter ("wait which app is that") gives the pitch a reason to be said, and the last two bubbles agree with it. The same chat runs in several looks: a clean screenshot and a photo of a phone screen, under the group names "bible study girls", "Bible Girls" and "girls club", with different texts. Seven ads show a chat, six distinct pictures, all live on 6 Nov 2026, the first started on 8 Oct and the latest on 30 Oct. Their captions differ: three open with "POV", two with "Your group chat is about to have a new favorite app.", one with a quote and one with a short story. The Page also runs tweet, Notes app and lock-screen lookalikes, which are not counted. The library lists no ended ads for this Page, so earlier runs, if there were any, cannot be seen.

05 Steal this

Brief these tomorrow
Let a friend say the pitch: one plain line inside the chat, with the brand named once.
Add a doubter, like "wait which app is that", so the pitch answers a question.
Keep logo, headline and price out of the picture so it reads as a screenshot someone sent. Let the caption explain.
Run the same chat in several looks, as this Page did: a clean screenshot or a photographed screen, different group names, different texts.
